A Crying Soul {James/Jahat}

[James Birthwright]

Jamees was sitting under a tree rather peacefully. The book he flipped through was a book on dark magics. He had to get most of his knowledge from books due to his lack of hands on classes. This way he wouldn't feel like he had less talent then the natural wizards and could advance at his own pace.

He sighed deeply, he was growing tired of being as lonely as he was. Sure he tried to push people away but it was only out of fear, honestly he needed a real friend more than anything else. Yet, whenever he got the opportunity he would close off his heart to that person. He was growing tired of being alive honestly. He didn't particularly like the wizardring world, where he was an outcast, or the muggle world, where he was abused.

A broken smile slowly started to come to his face. He couldn't cry, not anymore, he refused. Instead he would smile, if he smiled, maybe no one would notice...

Jahat was walking around, for once without his beloved Roza. She was with Rose, Rose wanted to see what would happen if he was with out his wolf for a day. Frankly he was going insane. He didn't know what would happen if he ever lost her.

Jahat grabbed a book and walked into the Forest of Thought. He wondered for awhile looking for a nice tree to sit and read under. When he say a boy with a broken smile on his face. The boy looked like he was going to cry.

"Pourquoi, Mon garçon, Pourqoui?" Jahat asked the boy quietly. Hoping he didn't scare the boy. His heart went out to the boy. He wanted to make this one's life better.

James snapped out of it. He opened his eyes and quickly said ,"S'il vous plaît me laisser," without looking at Jahat. He tried to pretend he was reading his book again, staring at the page forgetting your eyes do a typewriter like motion when you are reading. He just wanted Jahat to go away, he only knew knowledge of french because of his pitiful obsession with replacing knowledge with friendship in his life. He didn't know what to do, inside he was panicking.

[Jahat Satu]

"Oui mon garçon, No I am not leaving you here ruiné. I believe I can servir. I want to help." Jahat said with compassion. He wanted to help this child. He felt something akin to either that of a father or a brother but he wasn't sure yet.

"Help?" He asked, almost talking to himself. "What can you help when there is nothing wrong?" He chuckled, it was incredibly believable yet somehow empty.

This guy...

James closed his book and stood up quickly. He needed to make an exit, and fast, but how? He began to scan the area but found no way to get out of this conversation without being rude. He'd have to stay until his visitor left him be, but for some reason unlike usual this one man wanted to stay. James didn't understand why he wouldn't just go or didn't just ignore him like everyone else.

"Mon garçon, you are lying to moi and I want to help. I will not abandon you like everyone else." Jahat said. He knew the boy's path was blocked from leaving and he had to talk to him in order to get away.

Suddenly James tensed up, it was as if this man was reading his mind. He slowly but surely looked Jahat in the eye, and then looked back down out of fear. James couldn't bare to look people in the eyes. He had this problem for as long as he could remember. "I.." he started, but for some reason he couldn't finish. The lies just wouldn't come as they did before, James was in a shocked state of mind.

After a few seconds which almost seemed like minutes went by James finally cleared his throat and began to speak again "I have no idea you why you're doing this. It won't help me any..." James began to open up in his own closed off way.

"I am helping you because I can see some of me in you. I feel as though we went through similar thing even though I do not know what you went through yet. I feel as though you can be saved before the world loses one more special person." Jahat said.

He tilted the boys head up and looked him in the eye. "I am Jahat Satu, you can call me JaJa, little one."

"JaJa, no, Mr. Satu." James corrected himself, finding the nickname informal and rude. "My name is James Birthwright. But honestly, you would want nothing to do with me... I don't even want anything to do with me." He looked away with a glum look on his face. He didn't seem like the type to be depressed. And yet here he was.

"No Call me JaJa. I am ami. Not someone who will leave you. I want to help, little one." Jahat said.

"I want you. Now why would I want nothing to do with you. I for one should be the judge of that," Jahat said.

He really wanted James to open up and let him help. He was practically begging.

"Really?" He didn't want to say anything that could get him killed, and if he opened up, there would be tons of things that could. Luckily for JaJa James had forgotten to wear a long sleeve shirt and there was the beginning of a scar on his arm.

[Jahat Satu]

"Yes why would I lie, little one, You are going to be ma fille if I can do something about it. I do not want to know your story now, only if you want to tell me. I am going to do this and help you," Jahat said.

He looked down and saw the scar on James's arm. "What is that little one? Who did that to ma fille?" Jahat was raging but he calmed down and relaxed as to not scare the boy.

"My father... he's... a 'muggle'..." James said in a low tone, looking down out the ground with a bit of shame. It wasn't the fact his father was a muggle, it was the fact his father had done this to him that made him feel shame.

[Jahat Satu]

"There is no reason for your father to harm you. I do not care if he is a muggle or the Dark Lord himself. No child is to be harmed in any way. Now what happen, little one, I am trying to help you." Jahat said.

He reached out and lightly rubbed the scar. The scar glowed for a moment and then faded some. "There now little one. Do you trust me a little more?" Jahat asked.

James could do nothing but nod, though he was still frowning. He was grateful to this stranger but just meeting this man couldn't change his life or turn anything around. He kept avoiding eye contact regardless of the situation, it just felt as if he was being suffocated when he looked into another persons eyes.

"Now little one, Listen to me. No matter what happens in your life you are you and there is nothing you can do to change that. No one change you unless you let them. You are you and don't let people tell you otherwise," Jahat said calmly trying to sooth this boys soul.

"Its fine and alright to let it all out, little one. No one here is going to judge you," Jahat said with a kind smile.

This was meant to console James, and of course he knew that. But for some reason he was overcome with rage. His wand, as if it had always been there was suddenly in his hand and he brought it to Jahat's abdomen. "What would you know about shame, shopkeeper?! What would you know about being exiled because of your blood?" The tears shown clearly in James eyes, the situation wasn't that dramatic. The pressure had slowly been building in James ever since he discovered this new and terrible world. Afterall, a man, not to mention a boy of Jame's age, can only be driven so far before he snaps.

"I have been through Hell and back, little one. I just moved on. I had help from mon loup, Roza, and Rose and Zivah. So please, little one, don't tell me that I don't know what I am talking about." Jahat said stiffly.

"I have been shamed before. Why do you think I am in America? I am in American just because of that reason, little one. Try to understand people before you respond. Its okay to yell and scream but you need to remember there are people who want to help." Jahat said rather calmly. He was trying to get James to respond whether it be in anger or crying or telling him what happen.

This didn't change James resolve at all, he just stared at Jahat in a fiery angry before lowering his wand, and trying to step around him. He was running again, dodging the situation. He was good at that and thats all he needed to do here, right? This guy would eventually give up and leave like everyone else all he had to do was keep trying... But something.. didn't want him too; what was it exactly?

Jahat realized that James was trying to run. He really didn't want that, so he pulled him into a hug.

"James, listen to me. If you keep running it will never go away. I am trying to help you. Please let me help," Jahat begged him. He hoped that James would let him help, "I'm not going to leave you. I promise you this. I won't leave."

He paused and looked off into the distance. Then he hung is head and hugged back. "Fine..." he said lowly, he didn't mean it but he had to do something.

"What happen, little one? You don't have to tell me everything, just tell me what you can." Jahat soothed. He slowly moved James towards a tree and pulled him to sit besides him.
