I got back, overhearing Alex's joke. I was fuming. "You...!" I jumped on him, pushed to the ground and started tickling everywhere I could reach him. "Never do that again!"

I got up and tried to remember where I had left my pride. Oh, it was there, on the bench. I turned towards the two others girls and blushed slightly. "Well, we'll have to tame this one." I said joking.

Darcie was very busy laughing and could only nod her head to Ana. She did manage to offer Alex and Ana a hand to get up with, though. "Need some help?" She sad through her laughter, which was strange for her to hear.

"Yeah, thanks." I caught her hand and she helped me up. "I swear, boys are gonna kill me. I might turn lesbin someday." I put a thinking finger on my face then realised I had said something really odd to people who didn't know me very well. "Sorry. That's something I keep saying at home."

Darcie's face was blank because she did not know what a lesbian was, knowing more Irish than English, which she only just got a grip on. She did not reveal that she didn't know what a lesbian was for fear of getting mocked or worse. "Umm okay! Your home life must be pretty interesting. My home life is fairly peaceful what with it just being me and my guardian now," Darcie said. Her old life at the orphanage was fairly hectic, though, and she would trade nothing for living with Miss Kestrel.

"Well...yes, she's okay. She didn't really see me a whole lot, though, for the past 6 months. She's an auror, though, and been very busy with work and whatnot." Darcie got a faraway look in her eyes as she thought about the few times Kestrel did see her. When Kestrel was home, she seemed to avoid Darcie like she was a painful memory. Darcie attributed this to Darcie looking like her mother, whom Kestrel was very close to and watched die.

"Hey." He laughed sticking his tongue out at Ana as he was pulled up by Darcie. "But you can't be a lesbian. Then I couldn't flirt with you." He laughed.

"Who knows?" I said pulling my hair back. Then I turned to Darcie again. "I can't really imagine what's the life with a gardian, as mine is my own grandmother, but I suppose, well...it isn't the same." Then I sat again and folded a sheet of paper in the shape of a dragon. "I wish I could see what it looked like, the dragon I mean, when 'Mione and the others escaped from Gringotts." I sent the paper dragon flying around the classroom, sometimes spitting a trail of paper flames.

"Some say we have to forget the past and look forward. I don't agree. In our case not looking back might mean being reckless about the war we live in." I bit my nails again. "I much sound just like Grandma when I say something like that..."

"Muggles always say that have to remember that past so we learn from it. If we can't learn from it, then history will repeat itself until we change it. I think that the Roman god Janus got it right. We should look back at the past while looking forward. It might be hard for everyone else, probably because Janus had two heads and we don't, but I think the logical there." Darcie reminded herself of something, but she didn't say it out loud. She instead twirled the pencil on its point and made it spin without touching it. She pulled her knees up to her chest and lay her head on her knees as she watched the pencil and lost herself in its spin.

I watched Darcie's pencil spin until I got a headache. I turned to face her, but she was lost in her thoughts too. So I did what I could do to prevent her from losing her newly acquiered talkative mouth and caught the pencil while it spun. Then I threw it across the room. "Catch it!"

Darcie snapped back to life and caught the pencil with her shadow inches before it hit the wall. She breathed out and closed her eyes and stayed statue still for a few moments then she slowly brought the pencil back to her. Her breathing was a bit shaky but it was slowly returning to normal. Darcie set the pencil on the desk very carefully so that it wouldn't make a hint of a sound. Darcie closed her eyes again and tried to be calm. She didn't want to upset anyone but this was somewhat hard because she was upset herself. Darcie wasn't sure what to say; her mind felt scrambled."I'm sorry, I just need a moment to recollect myself." She put her hands to her temples and tried to get fully back to her previous state of peace.

"Oh, sorry. If that upset you, you have to say it. I hate to guess everything by myself." I sat on the ground, Indian style, put my palm on my knees, facing the ceiling, and try to concentrate enough so that my inner wolf side could make me feel at peace. As Wolva was sleeping now, it couldn't be difficult.

"Oh..I'll be fine. I'm like my rabbit you see. Sudden movements and unexpected loud noises scare me, especially when I'm concentrating on something. I was just a bit scared is all," Darcie said quietly. She smiled a small smile, but it was a smile nonetheless.

Meanwhile, Clementine had fallen asleep, with her head in her arms. Her grip loosened on her wand, and it dropped to the floor.

Darcie jumped slightly at hearing Clementine's wand hitting the floor. She turned and saw a sleeping Clementine and simply could not resist picking up Clementine's wand and gently poking her with it.

I heard Clementine trying to get rid of Darcie, and I couldn't help myself. I burst into laugh until I choked. Then I got up, still holding my chest, and turned to them. "You guys are priceless! I really am glad I've met you." Then I remembered something. "Apart from you, Alex. Of course" And I curtsied him.
