Friends? Maybe? (Darcie, Alex, Krislyn, and Anadora)

[Darcie Linwood]

Darcie looked around the bookshop, hunting for a brand new book. Well, not a brand new book. Any book she hadn't heard of would be good.

Darcie ran her fingers over all of the books she passed, both smooth and worn bindings. She loved the feeling of books, especially old ones. 'I wonder where all the fantasy books were kept,' Darcie thought as she scanned the shop. She imagined her bunny, Clovis, was here with her right on her shoulder directing her to the perfect book. She closed her eyes and pointed in a random direction. She then followed her finger to where it pointed and pulled out the book she found.

'The Last Unicorn? I haven't read this yet,' Darcie thought. She sat on the ground in front of the bookshelf where she found the book and starting skimming the pages. Darcie didn't really pay much attention to the book, though.

'I have got to make some friends here. Some real friends, not like Clovis. A real person to talk to that would talk back and not just nibble on lettuce. I know there's gotta be someone here who'll like me.'

Darcie scanned the bookshop for people. There was a cashier and several students she recognized from school, but none that she knew personally. 'Mayhaps, someone will approach me,' Darcie thought hopefully. She turned back to the first page of her book and started reading keeping her ears perked for anyone who might talk to her

"Hey." Alex said. "Do you know where the umm.....books are?" He said stupidly thinking the girl in front was quite cute. Wow. He thought to himself. I wonder if she know my name?

[Julie Cosma]

Julie heard a boys voice ask a question so she stood up from where she was behind the cashiers desk and saw him talking to a young girl about his age one the floor. She lightly smiled as she never really saw to many people actually sit down on the floor and read, it was different to see that in her shop. Julie decided to go back to unpacking some of the boxes that has just came in with some books she ordered, and let the two students apparently get to know one another.

Darcie was somewhat surprised and somewhat relieved to hear someone talk to her. She looked up at the boy who spoke to her and stood. She looked around the shop, each possible square inch covered with a book, and laughed a little.

"If its just a book you're looking for, you'be come to the right place. Do you have any particular book in mind? Oh yeah, and I'm Darcie," Darcie said a bit shyly to the boy. She recognized him from school and hoped that by giving him her name he would give her his.

"Alex." He said holding out a hand. "Are there any books that are you know romantic?" He asked Darcie hoping she got where he was going.

Darcie shook Alex's hand lightly and said, "It's a pleasure."

She blushed slightly at the thought of looking for romantic books, but smiled in spite of herself. She had understood what the boy meant.and was amazed at how bold she thought he was.

"I'm afraid I don't know where those are, this is is my first time here. I would go looking for them with you, if you wanted. Hey, um, are you in any of my classes?" Darcie tried to say casually as she ran her hand over a row of books.

[Krisyln Quinn Waylett]

Krisyln Quinn walked into the shop looking for a particular books. She spotted two people from her school here and maybe they knew where she could find them. "Excuse me do you no where the fantasy and mystery books are" she asked them. Krisyln Quinn realized the girl was in her house.

[Darcie Linwood]

"Oh hi!" Darcie said surprised. She was not expecting the girl to approach her. Looking closer, she realized that the girl was a second year in her house.

"Oh umm, I'm not familiar with the layout of this store but I found this book," she said indicating 'The Last Unicorn' ," Over here so maybe this is the fantasy section."

Alex smiled as Darcie had said that. He noticed the girl that had just walked in. "Aren't fantasy the ones where there are like.....dragons?" He asked. Not knowing about most books seeing as he didn't read much.

Darcie could've laughed outright, but that would've been rude or offensive. Instead, she repressed her giggles and said,

"Yes, fantasy and fiction are where things muggles think don't exist are. Dragons...unicorns...any fairytale you can imagine is in fantasy. Are you looking for a specific book?"

[Krisyln Quinn Waylett]

Krisyln Quinn tried not to laugh so she just simply coughed and looked at Darcie. "I'm looking for a book about dragons for my brother, his birthday is coming up and he loves dragons" Krisyln Quinn said with a smile.

[Alex Wimbleway]

"What about ninja's? All boys love ninja's." He said pretending to do some karate moves.

[Darcie Linwood]

Darcie laughed at Alex's ninja moves, but she considered them adequate. His moves gave her an idea.

"Maybe you could get him a book of Chinese mythology. That has ninjas and dragons!"

[Krisyln Quinn Waylett]

Krisyln Quinn thought about it for a minute. "Yeah maybe I will get him that thanks" She smiled at them greatful that they were there to help her. "I'm Krisyln Quinn Waylett by the way" she said to the too people in her school.

"Alex. Alex Wimbleway." Alex said smiling.

[Anadora Black]

I stormed into the book shop as if the Devil was running after me. I needed a book, quick! Something I could drown myself in and forget where I was!

I ran towards some covers I knew about. "Eragon. Eldest. Brisingr. No, no, no!" Calm down, I thought to myself. I sat on the floor, unnoticed, or so I thought, and grabbed the first cover that I found. "Lladrana. That's better!" And I started reading...

"Nice book." Alex said smiling as he popped his head round into the view of Ana.

[Anadora Black]

I laughed as I saw Alex entering my sight. Could I ever go somewhere he wasn't? I doubt it!
"Yeah, I've already got through three chapters. Didn't know about it. I like Muggle books that talk about magic, it's a...different point of vue. You? Haven't seen you go in..." I stretched my head to spot if he was with someone.

Alex turned around looking at Darcie. He smiled waving. "I don't come in here much actually." Alex admitted.

[Anadora Black]

I faked concern and chock. "Can you read at all?" My hand covered my mouth as I pretended to be disgusted.

"Kind of." Alex said smiling sheepishly.

[Anadora Black]

"Here." I said, handing him Eragon. "D'you know this one? Really good if you ask me. Or this..." I handed him Ewilan, english version. "That one's a cracker. Or, if you'd like to enter a girl's mind, this..." I handed him the complete collection of the Wit'ch saga, "...this is worth reading." When I turned back at him, he was now hardly carrying 15 books. "Oops, sorry. I'm getting overwhelmed when speaking about fantasy.

"Do any of them have ninjas?" He asked struggling to see anything.

[Anadora Black]

"Duh, no. Ninjas stories are only good to watch, I really do not understand a thing when it comes to reading about it. Jackie Chan wins it all." I took the books back and put them back in their right place. "I really do love some historical/fictional stories though. Have you read anything about...War and Peace? Tolstoi?"

"The only things I read are the soccer skills books." He shrugged.
