For The First Time. [Adriana/Nate.]

[Adriana Diaz]

Adriana walked into the bar, her short skirt hugging her skin. She sat at the bar, crossing one leg over the other. She could use a good party, and the only place she ever found it, was when she was drunk. She loved this bar. Considering she was twenty, she always used a fake I.D. She ordered a martini, humming along to the song that happened to be playing. She took a few tips, resting her elbow on the table, then placing her head in her hand, daydreaming.

Nate slipped through the door when the girl opened it and he sauntered over to a corner. He wasn't here to drink and you could see that by the way his eyes surveyed his surroundings.

"Blackwell!" The Bartender's voice boomed loudly and Nate groaned mentally since most of the people in the bar turned to his direction. "The usual? I gots no dom here me'boy. Just beer and a lot of vodka." Hi ship wreck accent was deep.

"No not now, Sid." He answered.

The loud voice of the Bartender snapped the latina out of her daydreams. She glanced over in the direction of the young boy, offering a half-smile to him. She turned back around, tapping her long nails against her glass to the rhythm of the music beating.

Adriana flipped a few black curls off her face, taking another sip of her sour liquid.

[Nate Blackwell]

"Come on, boy. It's a crisis in'ere and I know you have enough blessing in yo' pocketses for a lil'drink." The bartender persisted and Nate sighed before he dropped a bill over the counter t shut him up.

"A martini. And if you don't have that either, something strong."

The bartender laughed and disappeared into his cellar and Nate shook his head in frustration just as he met eyes with the girl from earlier. She smiled and he had to smile back. "Not from around here, are you?" He noted her Latina features.

Adriana glanced up at the boy beside her. She sat up, moving a few locks of hair off of her face. "It's complicated." She looked back at her glass, then back to the boy.

"I was born in Puerto Rico." She said, her lips forming a slight smile.

[Nate Blackwell]

"I was born in Athens hence the Greek profile." He winked but he was only joking around though he really was born in Athens. He was there for the first two months of his life they told him until his parents were killed off by the Death Eaters.

His hand gripped the table tighter at the thought but he pushed the anger back.

[Adriana Diaz]

"That's interesting," Adriana cooed, taking another sip of her drink. She played with the straw in the strangely colored liquid, then moved her attention back to the boy.

"I'm Adriana, by the way."

[Nate Blackwell]

"Nate." He said tersely as the Bartender appeared again with his martini. He shot the bartender a smirk and the bartender shrugged.

"Like I said. Crisis." He grinned a toothy grin before bugging some other customer.

Nate chuckled under his breath as he took a small sip and turned to Adriana. "So, is there a reason why your life's complicated or is that too complicated to explain too?"

"Well," The latina began, taking one last sip of the liquid, finishing it. "I was sent here when I was eight," she explained, "My brother and I moved in with our grandparents. They died about five years back. Lived here ever since."

She sighed, as she raised an eyebrow slightly, glancing back to look at his blue eyes.

[Nate Blackwell]

"That doesn't sound too complicated, now is it?" He listened intently and he leaned forward and listened to the rest of her story in silence. All the while, his eyes darted from her to few other people in the room.

He wasn't here.

Nate turned back to Adriana, noticing that she was looking at him. "IS there something about that raised brow that I should know about?"

"Guess not," Adriana murmered, glancing back at the bartender and ordering another drink.

She looked back to him, "Nope," She replied, popping the 'p'.

[Nate Blackwell]

"Yeah, well since you've told me your story, you should know a bit about mine." Nate said, looking up at the ceiling. He played with his wand which was in his inner pocket and he let out a quiet breath.

"My parents and the rest of my family were massacred when I was only a child. They say they were death eaters..." He looked down at Adriana, his eyes hard and his lips in a tight line. "That's the first reason why I became an auror."
