"Oh..." Dillon sighed. "That's a shame. I'll just check a few of her classmates then." Dillon walked back over to the filing cabinet and picked a name at random; Penelope Parker. Similar to Mabel's file, Penelope's contained mainly class photos, reports and medical records. Until she got to the documents for her fifth year. There were documents speaking of counselling. "This is interesting," Dillon said, taking out the documents. "It says something about this girl having counselling from the early days of fifth year up until about the middle of the year." Dillon flicked through the rest of the counselling documentation. "That's odd..." Dillon said, checking through the papers. "The entries for the counsellor's notes are all empty. It doesn't say why the girl was in counselling or have any notes from the sessions."

"Well right here at the end, she talks about meeting someone. Apparently there was someone new at school who had been nice to her - she talks about her quite a bit, here near the end. In fact the sentence she cuts out is about her ... a Maria something, the second name is all fuzzy" Harvey replied distractedly as he flicked through the end of the diary.

Dillon frowned. "Hmmm..." She went back to the filing cabinet and looked for a Maria. She found one file under the name Maria. "Maria Evans." Dillon read out. She opened the file, her heart racing. But the folder was empty. No documents, no photographs, nothing. There was something scribbled on the inside cover of the folder. "24-52-93" Dillon read aloud. "What could that mean?"

"I have no idea - but this is getting really weird" Harvey replied as he shut the diary and then glanced at Dillon "really weird!"

"I know. I'm a little bit scared of what we might find, it seems like there's something we're not meant to know." She put the file back. "I'm gunna keep going through the box..." She looked through the box and found a small wooden chest. "Hey! Look! A little box!" Dillon said excitedly, but her face dropped when she tried to open it. "Oh, it's locked. You need the code..."

"It seems far too obvious, but at the same time sometimes people make things so obvious because people never assume the obvious. Try the code from the file? Or maybe it would be too dangerous too open it. What do you think?" Harvey pondered the arguments back and forth and as he vibrated with excitement.

"I think it's a terrible idea to open it and there will most like be painful repercussions. However, my curiosity's got the better of me and I think we should try the code from the file. She entered the code from the file which was still fresh in Dillon's mind. The box clicked opened and Dillon felt like her heart had stopped as she slowly lifted the lid of the box. Dillon was expecting something fascinating, magical, but the box was empty. "Someone must have emptied it..." Dillon sighed. "Never mind then..."

"Well that is a major let down, you would think we got something after all that work" Harvey replied with a sigh "Well there must be something else we can do ... to find out what happened ..."

Dillon shrugged. "Well we haven't completely finished looking through her stuff, there could be some crucial information down there." Dillon dived back into the box and pulled out more items of winter clothing such as gloves and earmuffs, she threw them all out onto the floor and saw a blanket, clearly concealing something. She unwrapped the blanket and saw a broken broom lying before her. "This must have been her broomstick." Dillon said, picking up some of the pieces and inspecting them. "I think I came up with a theory about what happened. It may be a bit crazy, but it seems to make sense."

"Whoa! Poor broom" Harvey exclaimed when he saw it in pieces and he actually winced as he considered his own broom "well what is your theory? Let us see if it is the same as mine ..."

"Well," Dillon began, quickly relaying the details in her head. "I think that Maria was a bit of a dodgy character. I think that bludger was being controlled by this Maria girl and that there was a brooming accident involving Mabel. I don't think she... lived to tell the tale. And of course this Maria, whoever she was, would've wanted to cover her tracks, so she probably sweeped this place clean of all evidence she could find that she was involved. The school must have cleared out Mabel's dorm and put it in storage. What Maria didn't count on is two future students stumbling across her plot!"

"So now it is our job to find out who this Maria is and expose her plot. It is our duty as citizens. Firstly I vote going to the library and seeing if we can find that girls name anywhere else. Mainly to find out if she is still alive or not. Maria Evans ... I am sure I know that name from somewhere" Harvey pondered in an excited tone as he got into the idea of her theory being true and them having stumbled on a real life detective story.

Dillon's eyes widened. "This is so exciting!" Dillon said, jumping up a little in her excitement and joy. "The library sounds like a good plan. It's like my mother always says; when in doubt, go to the library!"

"Right lets go" Harvey agreed with excitement as he turned and made for the exit. But when he came to the door it would not open. Giving it a shove he frowned at it but it refused to budge. He did not even remember closing the door behind him.

"What's wrong?" Dillon asked, peering around at the door. "Is it stuck?" Dillon's smile disappeared and was replaced by a look of worry. "We'll get it open, you just have to try a little bit of brute force." Dillon took a few steps back and after taking a deep breath, she ran towards it and kicked it. Nothing. "Okay... Well at least we can cancel out that option."

"Well that did not work too well" Harvey replied with semi amusement when the door did not budge. He then got out his wand and pointing it at the door tried the unlocking spell. But nothing happened, and he was pretty sure it was not his bad spell work.

Dillon sat on a box and rested her head on her head on her palm. "We're trapped!" Dillon sighed. "It's okay, we just need to keep on pushing the door." Dillon got back up and slammed her whole body against the door. She rubbed her shoulder in minor pain. She tried again and still nothing. "Damn..."

Harvey put his hands against the door, cursed the fact he was short, and pushed with all his might. The door did not budge. Frowning he tried again and pushed harder. "This thing is just not budging! It is almost like its glued or something ... except that is a weird and ridicules idea, ignore me!"

"It can't be glued... Unless Maria Evans did it! Because she knows that we know!" Dillon said in a hushed voice, grinning with the adventure of it. She stopped grinning as she started to think. "Although I'd say that's even more far-fetched than your theory..." she hesitated for a moment. "Maybe some other students are playing a prank on us."

Dillon shrugged. "Maybe they'll let us out in like an hour and laugh at us." she sighed. I can't believe this... she thought, feeling a little defeated. "Well... We could bang on the door and yell and just hope someone walks past and lets us out."

Dillon, joining Harvey, starting banging her fists against the door. "LET US OUT!" she yelled, banging as hard as she could. She pulled out her wand and frowned, feeling a little angry. However she kept calm and said simply. "Stand back."

Dillon cleared her throat before holding up her wand, frowning at the door. "Reducto!" she yelled. The spell shot at the door, but before long came bouncing back. She ducked just in time but the spell hit the locked chest they had been looking at earlier. As the chest disintegrated, a small object tumbled out. Dillon bent down to inspect it. "It's a golden snitch." she said, looking at it from all angles. "And it's pretty battered too," she said. "Someone must have been trying to get it open. Probably that Maria girl."
